Luke Scott making his directorial debut from an original script by Seth Owen is a science fiction/mystery film made with intelligence and panache. Working from a very inventive screenplay concerning artificial intelligence it has a real zinger at the end which I have no intention of revealing. A very fine cast of actors were involved in bringing this unique story to the screen and they are Kate Mara, Anya Taylor-Joy, Toby Jones, Rose Leslie, Boyd Holbrook, Michelle Yeoh, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Paul Giamatti. Well shot in Northern Ireland which they past off for somewhere in New England, this picture is engrossing and rather frightening in spots but well worth the trip to the movies. Though rather violent in spots, I wouldn’t bring anyone under the age of sixteen to the film since portions of it may be inappropriate for certain young teenagers and children.
